What Defines a Forest Heart Custom Kitchen

Editorial

A custom kitchen is the room where the in-house millwork model proves itself. The cabinetry is inset hardwood. The doors are built with traditional joinery cope-and-stick on shaker, mortise-and-tenon on the most demanding profiles. The drawers are dovetailed front and back. The boxes are reinforced for stone counter weight. The hood surround is built in the shop, finished alongside the cabinets, and installed as a single integrated piece. Every appliance opening is dimensioned to the appliance, not to a standard.

FAQ Custom Kitchen Cabinetry

What is the lead time for custom kitchen cabinetry?

Forest Heart Builders coordinates cabinetry lead times with the overall project schedule. Cabinetry production typically runs in parallel with construction, with installation timed to follow finished flooring. We commit to schedule at the end of the Discovery phase and hold that commitment.

Yes. Wood species, door profile, finish, and hardware can be matched to existing cabinetry when the existing work is high-quality enough to extend. When the existing work is not at the standard you want extended, the more honest answer is often to replace it rather than to match it.

Three approaches. Panel-ready the appliance is wrapped in cabinet panels to match. Integrated the appliance disappears entirely behind matching panels. Statement the appliance (a La Cornue range, a Lacanche range, or a column refrigerator) is exposed and the cabinetry is built around it. The right choice depends on the kitchen design, the appliance, and the client’s preferences.
